There are more than 30 million tonnes of lignite produced at Nayveli in Tamil Nadu. The Nayveli Lignite Corporation was formed in 1956 by T.M. Jambulingam Mudaliar. The lignite is used as a resource to produce electricity. Neyveli Lignite Corporation has five thermal power stations, 51 wind turbine, 1404 solar power plant and four lignite mines. Vacancy
There are two training schemes mainly Industrial Trainee Specialised Mining Equipments and Industrial Trainee Mines and Mines Support Services. The vacancies in Industrial Trainee Specialised Mining Equipments are 238 and Industrial Trainee Mines and Mines Support Services are 262.
The duration of training for both the schemes is 3 years and all the relevant qualifications such as diploma or degree need to be achieved by full time mode.
The pay scale for Industrial Trainee Specialised Mining Equipments is 18,000 for first year, 20,000 for second year and 22,000 for third year.
While the pay scale for Industrial Trainee Mines and Mines Support Services is 14,000 for first year, 16,000 for second year and 18,000 for third year.
Educational Qualifications
The educational qualifications required for both the schemes are provided here. The educational qualifications for Industrial Trainee Specialised Mining Equipments is that the applicant should be enrolled in diploma in Engineering for 3 years (minimum). The qualifications for Industrial Trainee Mines and Mines Support Services is that the applicant should be ITI- Turner/Tractor Mechanic/Diesal Mechanic/Electrician/Welding, etc.
The applicant should pass it with 50% marks in aggregate for General while the SC/ST/OBC need to score 40%.
Age Limit
The age limit for all the three posts are differentiated category wise. The age limit for Unreserved and Economical Weaker Section (EWS) is 37 years. While the age limit for OBC is 40 years and the age limit for SC/ST is 42 years.
